Yes yes.. Yesterday it was 1 year we started to be vegans. I can tell, that we started to eat, live and think like vegans. Vegans.. You can use any word. The meaning is still the same. For us.

What else happened during the year..

We haven’t been missing the taste of eggs and bacon as many of you probably think and tell me as a reason why you are not vegans. We didn’t even miss any proteins from meat, because we have got them from vegetables. We have got a beautiful dog, as you probably seen. Being vegan really changed our hearts and characters. We think about things different and we are happy as we are ūüôā

Plus I have lost about 13 kilograms (about 28 pounds) during the year only by eating and noming and chewing ūüėÄ

Our dinner and lunch menu is more varied.

We discovered many new tastes. And we keep discovering ūüôā

I haven’t been sick even once!

I walk around McDonald’s without a taste for a BigMac. Instead of that, I point my nose to the sky and say: “Phew!”

I am really more happy person. And I am sure it wasn’t only one year, but first. Of the next tens.

Recipe: Soy ‘chinese’ cubes with vegetable

soy_china.jpgFirst of all I use to cook this food, because it’s delicious. And the second reason is because it’s easy to cook a huge pan. Like here are about 6 portions.

Ingredients (6 portions):
1 pack of soy cubes (300 g)
1 or 2 medium pepper (I use orange or red), but yellow or green can work as well
2 medium zucchini
1/2 of bigger leek
2 medium onions
4 spoons of soy sauce
2 cloves or garlic or 2 tea spoons of dried garlic
2 vegetable stock cubes (I use W√ľrzl)
Spices: 1 tsp of dried passion fruit powder, 1 tsp of dried giner (or fresh ofc), 1/2 tsp of ground cayenne pepper, bit of dried parsley.
Optional: You can add what you like. Sometimes i add tiny slices of carrot or mushrooms. I am sure slices of turnip would be great too. Bamboo shoots. Whatever you like ūüėČ

Boil a water in a pot. Add the 2 vegetable cubes and stir¬†them until they’re¬†dissolved. Then add the soy cubes and boil¬†them in the water for 10 mins. Meanwhile chop all the vegetable. Start with onion and fry it a bit. Then add the rest of the vegetable. Keep the pan really hot. The soy cubes you need to take from the pot and squeeze them to get the water out a bit. BUT DON’T POUR THE FLAVORED WATER TO THE SINK OR TOILET! Keep the flavored water¬†for later! After 10 mins the vegetable is in the pan, add the soy meat cubes there and fry it at really high temperature. The soy cubes will have better structure. Then add all the spices. Don’t use the salt. Fry¬†it and stir it and watch it¬†for 5 mins ūüôā Then add about 1 bigger cup of the flavored water (it’s really good vegetable taste) and stir¬†it on the pan. There is already some vegetable juice from the zucchini and peppers and all, but this will make the taste awesome. Then leave it on the stove at¬†some normal temperature for another 5 mins. Because bit of the water will evaporate, now we have to add the soy sauce. Really don’t spare ūüôā And then again¬†let it on the pan for 5 mins and it will be accurate, because all the spices, vegetable juice and soy sauce will create an awesome sauce! And no silly¬†potato starch!

I use to serve it with rice noodles, round rice, couscous or just a slice of bread are good also.

Tip: Use the rest of vegetable water for cooking the noodles or rice. It will have a great vegetable flavor ūüėČ


5 min recipe: Quick Endive salad with Beetroot


Because of my little hangover from weekend, yesterday I had very small fantasy. I was also so stupid, I forgot to grab a tofu and soy dresing from home in the morning. So there we go. Desperate salad ^^

1 pack of those already washed and packed salad mix (I chose Endive,Lettuce and Beetroot, because of no bitter taste).
1 big tomato
1/2 of cucumber
1 pc of wholegrain pastry you like
On the top: black pepper, 2 tsp of ketchup, vinegar

6 Tips How You Can Help to our Environment


Whether you are a passionate ecologist or not, you decided to get some few tips how to (at least) try to save our planet like me. Thank you!

1. Take the free plastic bags only in case, they are really necessary

The-War-on-Plastic-Bags-01Even you go to shop a vegetable or fruit, there everywhere in the grocery or supermarket the shelves are occupied with rolls of transparent plastic bags and everyone grab them to place into them¬†bananas, peppers or¬†anything else. That’s stupid. You don’t really need a plastic bag for a bunch of bananas or 1 pepper. Take it only when you shop something small. Litle small potatoes (getting 20 little potatoes to scale¬†could piss off the cashier a bit).¬†Same with the shopping bags. Try to buy some folding bag made of cloth and have it as¬†an accessory. If you have really take the shopping plastic bag, use it later as a garbage bag for a plastic waste.

2. Don’t buy Zewa flushable paper tube ‘Aqua Tube’


It may looks super-ecological, because the packaging is covered with words like¬†biodegradable¬†and¬†recyclable.¬†Don’t get it wrong. Recyclable and recycled are two different things. The classical toilet paper tubes are in 90% cases made of recycled paper already. That’s also why you can’t put them into paper recycling bins or flush them into the toilet. (Instead of that, trash it into mixed waste). The paper have been already recycled so many times, it’s not recyclable anymore. If you buy the Aqua Tube, it means Zewa has to buy new paper (understand cut new trees) which hasn’t been recycled yet to make it recyclable. And biodegradable word is just a ‘tinsel’. Because I have worked in place which was collecting old paper, I know these places are fully loaded with old paper ready to be recycled. So there is really no good reason to waste new trees for flushable tubes and neither flush them into the toilet only because they are biodegradable.

3. Gas – The most environmentally friendly way of heating

If you are living in country where you need to get some warm during the winter and you are or you will be planning what kind of heating (or also kitchen stove) you should use, the right answer is gas. In the ratio between gas, electricity, wood and coal, the gas is the best. Electricity becomes from gas/coal generators. Wood heating would kill our planet immediately and coal is not so expensive, but it produces a many of harmful substances.

4. Recycle things you don’t needRecycle_Logo

Before you will want to throw to the garbage bin something you don’t need or is broken, think if you could gift it to anyone instead. Clothes put into the special bins or ask in the nearest Salvation Army. The old broken handbags, buttons, books, broken radio, jam jars, light bulbs.. On this planet live so many creative people who will be happy to get this for free – just let them to pick it up by themselves and you will be happy you helped to someone who will create something absolutely fantastic. You can give that person your e-mail address and tell him/her to send you pictures of the artwork, when it will be done. Maybe you will get also new friends.

5. Use bicycle or public transport in the cities

citybikeThere is nothing better than fresh air in your hair (if you are not bald) when you are riding a bicycle! Bicycle, longboard, skateboard, scooter Рany of these are totally environmentally friendly. No fumes, toxic, no heating this planet. Just you Рsexy on the bike. You can make it also your new hobby. Using a public transport instead of car can be very helpful also. The bus, train or a metro are still more environmentally friendly, because they can carry more passengers at once. And plus the monthly pass costs four time less than gasoline used for your daily transport to the office and back home.

6. Buy products palm oil free

orangutansIf you haven’t heard about palm oil problem, get some information right here. Some kinds of biscuits and sweets will break your heart, but maybe you will decide to not support products made of it.

5 min recipe: VeganBurger and Nachos

I have read this article and it kinda made me sad. I work in office and I have a 30 mins break for lunch. The nearest vegan restaurant is 20 mins away. Actually any nearest restaurant is 20 mins far away.
Maybe you have the same problem. Maybe you are just lazy to cook huge portions for 2 or 3 days like me. Or you have been for dinner outside and haven’t buy anything for next day. Or you are just superbusy at work and you have time to go just to the grocery to buy something quickly.

You know what? You don’t really have to eat this! Before I became vegan, I had exactly the same silly ideas. Sausages in microwave, chinese instant soups all the time, or instant noodles ala <enter your favorite flavour>.. And then my stomach did hurt, I had no energy and I was getting fat.
But I can tell you something. It’s easy to prepare something at your company kitchen.
All you need to have still there are: salt, pepper, microwave, good quality ketchup & a common mustard, vinegar, your favorite (soy) butter and bit of water to wash the food.

The ingredients for your tasty lunch you can buy on your way to work in the morning or during your lunch break.

Let’s start with the 5 min recipe: VeganBurger and Nachos
1 pc of smaller wholemeal baguette or whatever kind of pastry you like
1 smaller tomato
1/2 of tofu block
piece of cucumber
1 spoon of mustard
1 spoon of ketchup
1 pack of your favorite nachos (for lunch I use like 1 smaller cup, but you can share the rest with your colleagues – they will like you ūüôā )

5 min process:
If you bought a whole tofu, slice it in the half. Add bit of salt and pepper and warm it for 1 min in the microwave. Meanwhile cut the pastry in the half. One half spread with mustard, the other half spread with ketchup. Slice tomato and cucumber and add the slices on the halfs. Between put the half of tofu. Rest of the tomato and few slices of cucumber use as a pretty decoration for your plate. Add a bit of nachos as a side dish – instead of fries or potatoes. Voila. In 5 mins you created a lunch worthy of kings.
